Myth-busting mindfulness and meditation

“Mindfulness means paying attention, in a particular way; on purpose, in the present moment non-judgmentally.” Jon Kabat-Zinn

Mindfulness and meditation are NOT:

  •      A religion
  •      New Age – no chanting or burning incense
  •      Emptying the mind
  •      Achieving relaxation

Mindfulness is ‘paying attention on purpose in the present moment non-judgementally’ and mindfulness meditation is a simple, secular, scientifically validated practice for your brain.
